No, it doesn’t. Audie’s story illustrates what the studies show. Audie’s story doesn’t show us anything on it’s own.

The issue of motivation in soldiers is a pretty difficult one to study, because even in anonymous circumstances there’s obviously societal pressure to say the ‘right’ thing.

I forget who proposed it, but are you aware of the three stages of a soldier dealing with front-line fighting?
