No “odd job” guys around? Sad. I used to have a neighbor who would do stuff for cheap (he was a friend of my son’s—fishing buddies), and he was better than the “pros” sometimes. Even though we’re no longer neighbors, he would still help me out if I needed him to do something. He was especially good w/cars (rebuilt his own truck engine), plumbing and carpentry. : )

I have neighbors I know would help if asked. They would also flat refuse any payment and I don’t want to impose on their holiday day off. I am gonna ask one of my friends whose coming over anyway to come over earlier to help. Him, I don’t mind asking. The booger is that he isn’t much more handy than I am so hilarity always ensues when we get into such a project.
