Then you above all else ought to condemn Netanyahu as he’s trying to scuttle our effort to bring that to pass.

For years now, across administrations, it has been the US approach to offer both carrots and sticks. To the Palestinians who want to live with an existing Israeli state we offer the carrot, while to those who want to destroy an Israeli state we offer the stick.

But now Bibi comes along and says that the carrot won’t be real.

Bibi intentionally tries to subvert US policy for his own (and even his more hardline coalition members’) goals.

Which is just fine for them if they are indeed representing their people (in the current state of Israel), but as an American I say we ought not follow them down their own, ultimately self-fulling destructive, beliefs.
