Nonsense, I’m afraid. Where and when has this approach worked?

The only thing, the ONLY thing that has ever managed to convince racists not to support the right wing (whether that would be Dixiecrats or Republicans) is economic desperation. Not “I didn’t get a raise this year” unease, but “Where am I going to find food for my family tomorrow” deprivation. Even this has a low probability of success, but that’s still more likely than coddling racial supremacy.

ahhh…the ever popular “economic anxiety”…
