re: #189 EPR-radar

The Democrats really need to bring back the 50-state strategy. The GOP gerrymandering of the House districts can cut both ways, because a lot of GOP seats could be lost if get out the vote and contesting every district is taken seriously, especially in 2016 (presidential race).

There were a few up my way that were left to linger in the absence of a decent nationwide strategy. In NY-23, Tom Reed is a fairly weak R incumbent who could be defeated with a focus on heavy turnout in Democratic Ithaca. The Ds had a decent candidate this year but didn’t support her enough, and she’ll probably finish 8-10 points back. They might lose Dan Maffei in the Syracuse district, and they’ll almost certainly lose the North Country, too. That’s a net 3 seats just in this fairly blue state. Add that up around the country and the balance could shift pretty quickly.
