These stories remind me why rehabilitation of the whole right wing MAGA brand is a ridiculous concept.

Yet, here is the NYT:

Media outlets historically have gone along with authoritarian attempts, because if the attempt succeeds, the owners of any opposition outlet are jailed. This pattern has repeated over and over again.

Where authoritarians try to rise, a free press is usually willing participants in their own destruction.

The New York Times has yet to withdraw their endorsement of Adolph Hitler.
