In honor of our first responders

I made a memorable rescue of a parrot once. We get things under control, but there is this ungodly shrieking sound in the house. We are look for a smoke detector or alarm or something to shut off the racket. It was so loud it was hard to find the source. I finally tracked down the sound, under a china closet, smoke was still to thick to really see, so I stick a hand underneath and try to feel for what ever it was.

Suddenly a chomp on my thumb, with my gloves it didn’t do any damage but startled me, I yank my hand out…. with a parrot attached. Now that his beak was on my thumb, the racket stopped.

One parrot safe, one sore thumb!
