Hell, the “prime rate” is 3.25%.
And you better believe that Apple can get the best rate from any bank, as if it needed to borrow money in the first place.
And yet Apple gets a room full of fans at their special events, clapping Pavlovianly at the silliest little gadget, which will be financed to consumers at societal-destroying usury rates.
Americans: Paying for overpriced Chinese made products at usury credit rates.
I haven’t bought anything on credit for almost 20 yrs. And never will again. Living on a very small budget has taught me to be appreciative of what I have and not wasteful, to take care of things. That’s not a moralistic statement, just that it makes sense to me environmentally and in other ways, like preserving my sanity knowing everything is paid for, even if it’s second hand, which I don’t mind. I’ve gotten some really nice things I couldn’t afford new at my local thrift store. Hell, I’m not going to take it with me. : )
