My bad. I made it hard to understand. The word ‘nowadays’ doesn’t refer to the scholars, it refers to the word “apply”. That is, The amount of scholars who believe that none of the Mosaic laws apply to people nowadays is slim. In any case, the Catholic Church teaches the same thing today, making any questions of whether it counts as contemporary pretty moot.

Article 7 of the Thirty-Nine Articles of the Church of England declares that Christians are bound by the moral commandments contained in the Five Books of Moses, although not the ceremonial, ritual or civil laws.

That’s another biggy right there.
