I can verify that! I studied French and Latin in school, and just picked up Spanish here and there. For a few years I supervised some staff who were half Spanish-only, half-barely-adequate with English. The result - they heard me speak half pigeon Spanish, half French or Latin words, pronounced like Spanish,that I thought were spanish, and the other half just me flapping my arms and pointing. They almost always got it right. I’d like to see French speaking employees do as well. BONUS - a few guys I’d had over a year had mastered English by then. I like to think my total incompetence in their language was motivational.
