It’s an excellent take on the topic. The descriptions of the surface actions are by far the best I’ve read in a non-specialist book ever. No surprise after “Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors”.

Another excellent naval history to read is “Shattered Sword” about the IJN at Midway using previously ignored Japanese records.
