Fuck, I don’t even know what this is. I can’t even begin to think of a comparison.

I imagine a lot of candidates for many offices have done such things. That’s pretty much what opposition research is about.

Digging up dirt on potential opponents (and Evangelicals might have been opponents considering Mr. Trump’s … ah … colourful past) is one way to neutralise them.

If the sleaze on Rev. Graham turns out to be true however, perhaps it will take him out of any future political aspirations (either as a kingmaker or worse, as a candidate for office).
