Yeah. Basically, using these grenades is the next escalation in force and risk by the cops, after traditional tear gas. It ups the effects, ups the risk of fire. The latter could be something that’s beneficial— to me, I still have no problem with just lighting the damn building on fire to get him to come out— or it could be a risk that’s considered and decided to be acceptable in the circumstances.

I see nothing wrong with the police’s actions at first look, I hope that excitement over the radio won’t be really held against them, and I don’t think their intention was to kill him— it was to kill him if he didn’t surrender, and I think that’s what happened.

This hasn’t been a great thing for law enforcement— we are very lucky that nobody died in the two shootings from the police. But anyone who thinks that all cops act or think the same, and that cops aren’t into busting big criminals but just want to execute them— come on. Yeah, there are some cops that’d shoot a guy like this on sight, but I don’t think there are very many at all that, presenting with someone surrendering, would just execute them.
