I confess that I shy away from folk music because it’s often so emotional that it upsets me. I get moved and I think of sad things and I have to take this kind of music in small doses.

This is different, though. I feel immediately compelled to hop on iTunes and buy their albums. They are great. Clean, deep, not over-produced, and very genuine. Refreshing and Satisfying, like some kind of hipster-ish folksy cola. :D

Earlier I was listening to Front Line Assembly and Wumpscut, now I’m looking back at my most recent album buys and I’ve got Midnight Oil, First Aid Kit, Marina and The Diamonds, and Florence and The Machine. I listen to dark techno stuff all day at work but maybe I’m more folksy than I want to admit.
