Not sure the 1968 Analogies are ( or will be) quite applicable to this year’s GOP funfest: back then, the extremist dissidents trying to push a nationally unpopular candidate on the Party Establishment were looked on (correctly, btw) as leftists - and DFHs to boot (and booting hippies has always been a popular team sport in this country). This time round, the crazies are coming from the right, so there’s no gain for the media in publicizing any serious rows
