Jut got a call from a survey company asking about my television watching habits.

Apparently she was confused with “We don’t own a television set and cable service is not available here.” She kept trying to get me to clarify that response to try to get it to fit to the answers she did have.

There are an awful lot of corporations and people who are not aware that every First World whizbang thing is not available in all parts of the nation.

There are places in the US where one cannot get competent broadband. Ask my folks, who are literally just a couple of blocks away from a fiber network, but because of the county boundary, they are denied access to truly modern Internet. Instead, they’re stuck on a DSL line that is effectively the 56k dial-up of the current decade.
