It strikes me that without Biden the results would be very different, with Warren and Buttigieg being likely beneficiaries.

Odd this year is that the Democrats keep stepping on their toes. But then again, I’ve always called the modern Democratic party the I’m-not-a-Republican party, that is, there isn’t so much a coherent set of beliefs but rather the party is a general collection of people who know they don’t like the modern (post-Nixon) Republicans.

Another way of saying basically the same thing is that Republicans are now the party of the batshit insane and willfully deluded who are happy to be led by their psychopathic masters.

Everyone with defined politics who isn’t all-in on the GOP insanity needs a different party, so it’s inevitable that Democrats pull in different ways on many major issues.
