It depends. I didn’t get my hard copy of the Certificate of Honorable Discharge (the one that looks like a diploma) until 5 years after Discharge. You remain obligated to the Army for 8 years no matter if your initial enlistment is 3 or 5 or whatever years. Not sure if something like that is at play with Kerry.
Anyway, he was my Senator for the better part of my life and I wouldn’t cross the street to put him out if he was on fire.
Getting the hard copy after your inactive reserve is one thing. Kerry had a review board, you didn’t have a review board. You get a review board to CHANGE something. If his DD-214 came out of the review board Honorable, what was it before it was changed?
