Anyone who knows anything about Eric Blair knows that upon meeting a present day right winger he’d say one of two things:

1) You know absolutely nothing about my work; or

2) Bugger off, arsehole

Blair did not suffer fools gladly, though he did like growing gladiolas.

He remained a socialist till the end. He simply fought the Soviets as hard as the Fascists after his experiences in Spain.
