There was a great line I saw yesterday morning from one of the strategists. Trump wins on reality TV but not in reality. I guess the point is when Trump controls the narrative of reality like a reality show, he wins but when reality actually sets in, he can’t. And I guess that’s where finding the right candidate is vitally important.

From what I read, Trump was not even in control on The Apprentice. The director and his staff had to coax and cajole Trump to do what was necessary, and the editors had to cut and splice tape to make him even sound professional. Pretty much what the WH staff does now.
