They do, but I understand them. It can be intensely angering to watch the person you helped get elected with the party apparatus turn on the party and its platform. A number of officeholders have done that and I hate that. I’m not sure how good an idea such oaths are, but they do appeal to me. I’m not a fan of “mavericks” spurning those who got them into power.
