Then Putin better get started on building more pipelines which don’t pass thru Ukraine to enable Russia to sell oil & gas to Western Europe.

Russia’s current economy is dependent on oil and gas sales.

No doubt it would hurt Russia as well, but probably not as much as international backlash against a military intervention.
