in 1999, I was walking my two-year-old daughter. We ran across some remaindered 5 1/4” floppy discs on sale at a local shop. I told her that she would someday be able to tell her grandchildren about how she saw such a thing.
And I also told her about how when I was born, a telephone, TV, music player, radio and typewriter were all separate devices that could only communicate through bulky analog technology platforms…
That’s nothing, my grandma taught be how to use abacus when I was a kid (hardcore enough for ya?:), and I grew up to program a calculator, followed by computers. That’s progress! As far as floppies, 3.25” are still in use, now if you were to see 5.5” monstrosities it would be a different story.
