Now, I think the term “bullshit” isn’t sufficiently accurate to describe what is really going on - it’s a far too flexible word to use. I’d prefer to describe bronze age Canaanite hill peoples’ hang ups in more detailed terminology. Yet I can understand how in a polemical setting using “bullshit” is probably the best one can do.

Isn’t that why they created the Protestant Church? Because they called “bullshit” on the Catholic Church? I think most people, unless they’re true literalists/adherents frequently call “bullshit” on many biblical or church teachings. There’s not only the gay issues. There’s divorce, contraception, abortion, etc. Everyday issues.
