This is why I don’t socialize with conservatives. They are supporters of racists and Nazis. I don’t hang out with Good Germans.

It’s a tough call for me. A RW friend told me that he keeps the peace within the family by having the rule that no politics are discussed at family gatherings. He and I avoid the topic most of the time to maintain our friendship. Once in awhile I interject something related to economics, health policies or the environment but we primarily limit our discussion to less controversial topics, such as how large corporations care about only the wealthy and shareholders, and would sell the rest of us out. I know that this seems like a cop-out but we have been friends for over 20 years and he is happy not promoting his views to me.

For those who are more vocal about their issues, I usually respond in kind.
