re: #199 Targetpractice

Only one of whom could provide verifiable evidence that she had in any way been harassed. And who accepted his apology and considered the matter closed. Every other accuser faced virtually no scrutiny, with at least half not even being named.

While I’m a supporter of the #MeToo movement, I cannot help but feel that it has become a weapon as much as a movement, used in the case of the former Senator by his female colleague against a man she saw as a major political adversary.

I don’t know about ‘as much’ of a weapon. I think it was clearly used as a weapon in this case, with Roger Stone’s fingerprints all over it. Other than that though, I can’t think of another high-profile case of false or trivial accusations being used as a weapon since this movement began. George Takei’s accuser seems to have been an isolated event with no significant ramifications, and does not appear to be a coordinated attack.
