Last night, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved 29-1 the State Department and foreign affairs legislation. The bill would provide $628.5 million for family planning programs, including $50 million for the U.N. Population Fund.

I don’t know about this. I’d like to stop funding the rest of the world, but …

There are people ignorant enough that they don’t know how they make babies or even that it can be prevented. I’d like to to think that education and contraception would solve this, but I haven’t seen much proof. There are so many unwanted children being exploited in the world.

It is a tough issue for me.
