Just opened my print copy of VFW Magazine, where they contrast the platforms of Republicans and Democrats for veteran affairs and such.

One thing jumps out of the Republican platform: promote faith-based programmes for opioid addiction and PTSD.

Another thing: Privatise everything they can lay their hands on.

A third thing: change veteran appointments to political appointments to VA positions.

Democratic platform: Strengthen the VA system, strengthen the Post 9/11 GI bill, &c.

The VFW gave its Congressional Award last year to Senator Bernie Sanders for his tireless work pushing veterans issues in the Senate. Much of Sanders veterans platform is adopted into the Democratic Platform now.

And yet, a bunch of veterans are going to vote for the GOP all the way down. I don’t get it.
