Honest question about the Alabama governor… does this mean there’s even the slightest chance that the Democrats could field a competitive candidate next year? Or is it just lost?

No Democrat holds statewide elected office here. Saturday our local prog group met to plan a 2018 suicide run for Representative, in case the incumbent is indicted or hit by a stagecoach in the week before election day.
