I’m using it as a broader term. I agree with your example. I’m expanding it to include the jackass who fails to clear his weapon before cleaning it and lodges a 9mm slug in his ceiling. That’s not murder, and one is freely allowed to damage one’s own property, so what do we call that? It’s a negligent discharge, and cause for revocation of your firearm rights.
Point taken. Make a new crime out of any negligent discharge that isn’t presently criminalized.
