“Assisted” suicide smacks too much of murder. However, if an individual, being in his right mind, decides enough is enough, it is his business alone. Nobody but that person knows just how much they can take before their life becomes an unbearable burden to themselves. Suffering is not beautiful. Agony is not noble. If one decides that at some point it is all he can take, he should be able to end it. But it should be his decision alone, not the government’s, not his heirs’ or friends’.
