Amen. Again, I’m shocked at how a lot of the uproar over Robertson seems to be about his weird and idiotic comments on gays. To me, his denial of Jim Crow is far more reprehensible. Maybe that’s why the Fischer/Palin/Breitbart axis is whining about him being persecuted by gays, and totally silent on the question of his white supremacism. Best not to bring that one up.

When I read those remarks, about the blacks working in the field all happy and singing, I remember the scene in Blazing Saddles, “Back when you was slaves, you used to sing like birds!”
