After posting the comment, I realized that it might be construed to be making fun of mental illness. That was NOT my intent. I’ve struggled my entire life with severe depression and fully understand the toll it takes. I also understand the stigma of mental disorder, which make me reluctant to seek treatment for most of my life. Thanks to the wonderful support of family and friends and treatment, I’m currently doing well.

I’ve also reached the point where I’m willing to discuss such personal information because I now feel that my illness is nothing to be ashamed of and also to let others who are struggling with the same issues know that people understand and can help.
