(personally, I’ve always wondered why those trying to get the American right wing engaged in global warming don’t take the obvious approach of pointing out how HAPPY Russia is about it. They’re expanding the port facilities in St Petersburg, planning for year-round operation, they’re grabbing newly accessible Arctic territory they think might have oil and/or minerals, Siberia might even become arable, and wouldn’t that change the balance of power…)

Problems with this argument are:

1. RWNJs think warming is a good thing since it will make Siberia etc arable.
2. Moar drilling!
3. They’re Putin fans these days.

IOW, nothing will get through to those who prefer to live in a state of willful ignorance.
