Those of us at the pointy end were reliant on the men and women who did the thankless work of logistics and support. We couldn’t have done our job without them. The only people I designate as REMFs are the fuckheads who, despite never having fired a shot in anger, will tell you exactly how others should fight.

The late, great, Bill Mauldin used the phrase “The brotherhood of them what has been shot at,” in one of his books. REMFs are not members of that brotherhood.
