A lot of folks will look at a forest and see the beauty, the flora, fauna, the leaves changing. All I see is what great firewood some of it would make. Maple dries fast, smells nice, but leaves a lot of ash. Oak dries slowly but burns a long time. Black walnut is like iron to cut, but will melt your wood stove. Hickory, apple, ash, all great burning wood.
