Russia blames the Jews

If the shootdown of the IL-20 went as Russia said it did (Israeli fighter jets hung in the vicinity of the cargo aircraft because it is a bigger radar cross-section for SAMs), that was a colossal amateur mistake (by Syria).

On the other hand, if the RT story is true, what the Israeli fighter aircraft did would be a war crime (the Russian plane was over international waters and not a combatant between Syria and Israel).

This is going to be a cluster. There was also a French naval vessel in the area, so perhaps they have radar recordings to show as evidence for or against the Russian claim.

Russia is reserving the right to retaliate. Since they are not blaming Syria, that would be Israel.
