How I would change Soccer
1) break the game into 4 quarters with 3 time outs allowed per half
You need that time to sell beer and food…Guys will watch anything with Beer commercials
2) Shrink the field by 30% It worked for arena football

While I cannot argue with anyone who has found large swaths of the current World Cup boring, I have to take issue with these two suggestions in particular.

1) The 45 minutes of non-stop play per half is one of the things that (IMO) makes soccer superior to other sports. It also means that when you attend a match you don’t have to deal with the constant parade of idiots trying to get around you so they can make a concession run every 5 minutes like at virtually any other sporting event. Admittedly, this does lead to heavy congestion at the beer stand and restrooms at halftime.

2) MLS matches are almost always played on a smaller surface and this doesn’t lead to significantly more goalmouth action. I would also point out that arena football itself is nearly dead.
