re: #182 darthstar

So how’s everyone’s fertility festival day going so far? Today is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox…funny how the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox always manages to land on Easter Sunday. How does that work?

Anyway, I’ll be planting some strawberries I bought for my wife and dropping some herbs in a large planter today.

I plan to drink heavily starting about noon, and stopping about 4 or 5pm so that I won’t be a complete mess at 7am tomorrow. During that time, I will probably engage my dog in various rough-house shenanigans that will amuse him greatly but will inevitably result in various scratches and bruises for me that will be questioned by my co-workers, who will be skeptical of my explanation. I will also probably play some Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood on the main PC while simultaneously intertubing on the laptop at my left. All the while, I will think about how I’d really like to move out of this shitty apartment that was apparently designed and built by a Soviet-era construction crew, all of whom escaped from a Siberian prison camp due to a serendipitous bureaucratic accident. I will wash some laundry and once it’s done, I won’t fold it properly, and I will only iron and hang up the “nice” shirts that I won’t be wearing any time soon.

Then I will imagine what it would be like to have a girlfriend, or even just a friend, (and, if I’m feeling sufficiently decadent, a family) and that will somehow lead me to reading Charles Bukowski and Dylan Thomas which will in turn remind me that this is the best of all possible worlds, in both the optimistic sense and the pessimistic one.
