re: #207 Henchman Ghazi-808

The right-wing is seriously so far down the rabbit hole I have no idea how they’re ever going to get back. They’re more likely to wake up a Balrog than ever see the sun again.

In this case, it’s an article pretending that the ‘fiscal cliff’— the increase of a taxes across the board and descreases in spending— isn’t a big deal, and is only serving as a stalking-horse to distract the gullible general public. But this brilliant NRO writer sees through this, to the real problem: the debt, oh god, the debt! We suddenly suddenly when Obama was elected really started caring about the debt so much that we have to try to repeat the mistakes of the Great Depression, especially of cutting spending right when the economy is climbing back out.

But fixing the debt is the biggest problem because they’ve declared it to be the biggest problem. There’s no actual argument, just assertion— it’s fucking hysterical that he’s claiming worrying about the fiscal cliff is paranoid insanity whereas gibbering fearmongering about the debt being the most critical fucking problem is apparently calm reason to him.

The right wing needs to stop believing in conspiracy theories and it needs to let go of the corpse of Ayn Rand. Cutting spending during a recession was fucking stupid. Cutting it right as we’re climbing out— also fucking stupid. And the massive increase in disparity of wealth between the wealthy and everyone-else is a much bigger threat to our society and country than the debt is— and it’s related. The Waltons make their money off the backs of people the US taxpayer subsidizes.

I’m so fucking tired of this bullshit. I don’t want to have to devote hours and hours of my life every campaign season to fighting these whackjobs.
