He’ll probably do better once he breaks from from the producers who are connected with American Idol. Look at Carrie Underwood she took OFF after that first album and now rivals Shania Twain and Faith Hill

Getting away from the AI producers will probably be a big help but I’m unsure that he’ll ever sell records the way Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson does. Frankly, I’m surprised he made it as far as he did on the show. He certainly provoked strong emotions from both his supporters and detractors. I wasn’t a fan at first, I thought what he did with “Ring of Fire” was horrible. But the very next week he blew me away with “Tracks of My Tears” and I’ve been a fan ever since. I don’t know that I’d ever by a CD of his but I’d pay to see him live.
