You have to take courses to be a teacher here and the money for those is not available. I will ask some friends I have who are teachers, though. But I see that as a longer term option; Right now Illinois school districts outside of Chicago aren’t hiring much. Chicago plans to hire a number of teachers, but the union for them is very stridently Democratic. Republicans aren’t welcome.

If you let that GOP fantasy get in your way, you are justly punishing yourself. No one is going to ask your politics, and if they did you could retire on the settlement.
