I can’t help but think that this was staged, that Piers told TFG in advance what he was about to do FOR TEH RATINGS!!!!!!!11!! and TFG agreed, but when the time came he just couldn’t handle the damage to his ego caused by Piers telling him to his face that he lost.

Also from the way he gets out of the chair he probably soiled himself.
