And the amount of thorium is huge. No nasty waste products during fuel prep. There really is no downside to the stuff.

It can’t be used to produce metric shit-tons of weapons-grade nuclear material. Which is why it was never developed, and we got stuck with ThreeMileChernoShima instead :(
