Also, on another note, there were so many moronic things said by Phil Robertson recently, but after the liberal in me went through the appalling things he said about gays, Japanese, the Jim Crow South, et. al, the music snob in me noted the “blacks were not singing the blues” line. Uh, what? If blacks were not singing the blues in the Mississippi Delta in Robertson’s time (actually, well before his time as well), then the entirety of American popular music over the past half century or more would not exist. Or maybe Son House and Robert Johnson were fabrications of some pop music factory in LA.

Congrats, Robertson. You’ve pissed off the rock snobs too.

That’s what I was thinking too heh regarding the blues. Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, etc. All those guys were writing and singing during the height of Jim Crow. He’s an idiot as are the people who defend him. He’s entitled to his opinion of course but I am glad A&E decided to suspend his ass.
