Pretty much this. Because he’s the first POTUS that isn’t a white guy, the expectations that were set for him were impossible. The professional complaining class liberals damn near expected Obama to eliminate all racism and all minority resentment just by virtue of the fact that he got elected. They expected sunshine and rainbows 24/7/365, 40 acres and a mule, and for the POTUS to walk on water. Real life doesn’t work that way.

He turns out to be human and now they’re disappointed. Fuck that.
