re: #164 _RememberTonyC

I heard that bullshit on the radio as I was driving home before. Robert Reich made a speech at berkeley where some in the audience applauded when he talked about denying “Granny” health care in her later years. So beck uses those radical assholes to paint all American youth? Does he not realize how hypocritical he is when he does that? After all, when it suited his argument to call berkeley students “not representative” of conservative American values that was OK. But now he uses that same crowd to tar and feather all American youths? He can’t have it both ways.

Actually, the speech by Reigh was pretty honest. He said, and I agree, that if politicains told the truth, they’d say very expensive heath care to prolong the life of the very old by at most a couple of months may be denied.
The simple fact is even today, your insurance won’t pay for extraordinary care for the terminally ill just to prolong their life for a few weeks.
Extraordinary care for terminally ill, very old patients care is, and will be rationed, but no one is willing to say it. If I’m in my 90’s, and you are 40, you’ll get a organ transplant ahead of me. Even a young drunk goes to the back of the line to replace a liver that he’s destroyed. In a perfect world, no expense would be spared to give us all a extra day or week of old age, but it’s just not possible.
