That’s partly true but not completely. Trump was a genius in framing the Kavanaugh debacle; he single handedly saved the Kavanaugh nomination which was going down in flames and managed to persuade enough Americans that Kavanaugh was their innocent son or innocent spouse. We keep on underestimating his skill in promoting the worst in people and ideas and getting them approved by enough people to secure his continuation in office.

McConnell and the Senate Judiciary Committee saved Kavanaugh.

And in so doing they saved Trump’s pick.

And I think McConnell has done more in keeping Trump in office than anyone, even Trump.

Hell, McConnell protected his election by keeping Obama from making more of a thing about the Russian revelations prior to the election.

I give no credit to Trump other than whatever he conspired and pulled-off to shut the Republican Senators up and make them toe-the-line. Examples: LIndsey Graham, and the Senators that spent July 4th in Russia.
