In Gainesville, “School Resource Officers” are all sworn police officers, though some might think that this is an excuse to acquire M4s that can also be used by the department’s SWAT team. Radley Balko would certainly think that.

I’m looking for ‘trained and experienced’ rather than ‘sworn’. If a place was under that much threat, it would still be braindead to introduce a full auto that shoots through concrete block. Let’s try less-than-lethal until at least middleschool.
