he already knew who it would be (future fundamental political issues aside)
and he did pick the best

By the way, I wish Biden hadn’t publicly restricted his list to black women.

I wish he’d said he would pick the best candidate taking many different factors into account, interviewed a varied list, and then…chosen a black woman.
